  • SF Tight End #85
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
The 49ers emerged from Week 1 with multiple key injuries, including Kittle, quarterback Brock Purdy, and wide receiver Jauan Jennings. Kittle’s absence is especially damning considering his role in the offense, something that could completely change the team’s preparations for the Saints when taken in conjunction with a potential absence from Purdy. Fantasy managers will want to make other plans at tight end for the coming weeks.
  • SF Quarterback #13
The 49ers emerged from their Week 1 victory over the Seahawks with three significant injuries, losing George Kittle for multiple weeks with a hamstring injury, Jauan Jennings to a shoulder injury, and Purdy to multiple ailments. Purdy’s status for Week 2 remains up in the air, with Schefter saying the team will “see how the week goes.” Mac Jones would be in line to start against the Saints if Purdy can’t go and would be charged with leading an offense decimated by injury.
  • CHI Cornerback #1
Johnson went through warmups but reportedly “needs another week” before healthy enough to take the field. It’s a sizable blow to a secondary tasked with slowing down Justin Jefferson on Monday Night Football, which will now be forced to so without their All-Pro cornerback. Expect Nahshon Wright and Jaylon Jones to soak up his vacated snaps opposite Tyrique Stevenson. Also inactive for the Bears are DB Kyler Gordon, QB Case Keenum, RB Roschon Johnson, LB T.J. Edwards, and DL Shemar Turner.
  • DEN Running Back #27
“It’s one of those day-afters where you look back and say, ‘Alright, let’s look at how we really wanted to start that game and get those two runners going,’ because we think we’ve really improved in that area,” Payton continued. Bo Nix didn’t do much with the added volume and Denver eventually wound up rushing for five yards a carry against the Titans. It sounds like the Broncos could employ a more run-heavy approach against the Colts in Week 2, which should help J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey in fantasy football.
  • ARI Quarterback #1
“I did think there were some high-leverage snaps in that game where he used his legs for our advantage and that’s what you want to see,” Gannon continued. Murray scrambled four times for 31 yards against the Saints in Week 1, last year he averaged just 2.4 scrambles per game per PFF data. It sounds like Murray is getting the green light to run more when he sees an opportunity and, per Theo Mackie, the Cardinals “tweaked some of their pass protection schematics in an attempt to open up more scrambling lanes for Murray up the middle.” It’s possible we see more running production out of Murray this year.
  • LV Tight End #89
Carroll admitting that anything is wrong should be a warning sign for fantasy managers, as he’s always supremely optimistic on injuries. Bowers’ practice status will be a major news story for the week ahead. We wouldn’t be surprised if he missed Week 2, but at the very least we expect the Raiders to take it easy on him in practice ahead of their game against the Chargers.
  • KC Wide Receiver #1
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport believes this is an indication that “the plan is to rehab and attempt to play with a brace -- rather than immediate surgery.” We’ll see how well Worthy plays through the obvious limitations — his practice statuses this week should be among the most-monitored — but it sounds like there’s at least a chance he’s able to be ready for the Eagles in Week 2.
  • NYG Quarterback #3
Daboll continues to love the pain. Wilson wasn’t disastrous in Week 1 against the Commanders, but he didn’t do anything to extend what is presumably an already very short leash. After declining to commit to Russ on Sunday, Daboll will again put Mr. Unlimited under center in Week 2 against the Cowboys. The Cowboys limited the duo of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith to a combined 4-24-0 line in Week 1, and that was with a perfectly capable QB in Jalen Hurts under center. It’s hard to imagine Wilson and Malik Nabers faring a whole lot better in Week 2, so we wouldn’t rule out a switch to Jaxson Dart if the game gets off to a rocky start.
  • BAL Tight End #89
Quarterback Lamar Jackson attempted only 19 passes in a game the team controlled until the final kick, losing in spectacular fashion via a Matt Prater walk-off field goal after leading by 15 points twice in the fourth quarter. The fantasy returns from the veteran tight end were particularly disappointing considering fellow tight end Isaiah Likely was unable to suit up. Andrews is never overly likely to see immense target volume considering his advanced age and the run-focused nature of the offense, gaining most of his value from his robust red zone role. It was veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins that cashed in on a touchdown from just outside the red zone in this one, but it is worth noting that only one of the team’s five touchdowns came from within 20 yards. We should see better fantasy days ahead for Andrews, with managers hoping those days start in Week 2 on the road against the Jets.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #4
After a quiet first half that was dominated by Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson, Flowers erupted for catches of 39 yards, 23 yards, and 36 yards to set a new career high in receiving with 143 yards. His touchdown came on his 23-yard grab in the third quarter that pushed Baltimore’s lead to 14 points. The nine targets also accounted for a robust 47.4 percent team target market share on just 19 Jackson pass attempts, with no other pass-catcher on the team seeing more than a modest four looks. Flowers and the Ravens draw another difficult matchup against the Jets on the road in Week 2.
