  • HOU Wide Receiver #12

The Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan M. Alexander believes Collins is “a long shot” to play on Sunday against the Patriots, given “the steps he must clear.” Unfortunately, he might be right. Collins still has time to advance through the NFL’s five-phase concussion protocol, but another absence at tomorrow’s practice would be discouraging. Veteran slot WR Christian Kirk stepped up last week, catching 8-of-9 targets for 144 yards and one touchdown in the Texans’ Wild Card win over the Steelers. We expect him to operate as the team’s top target earner if Collins cannot play.
  • CAR Quarterback #9
Carolina general manager Dan Morgan said Tuesday that the team would exercise Young’s option. Young in 2025 showed signs of life as a viable starting NFL quarterback, posting career highs in drop back success rate (45 percent) and adjusted yards per attempt (6.3). Young now has 49 touchdowns to 30 interceptions over three NFL seasons. Morgan added Tuesday that the Panthers were “up in the air” about a long-term deal for Young, 24. He’ll be the team’s starter for at least the next two years in any case.
  • PIT Quarterback #8
The curtain call season from the veteran signal caller was far from pretty but he still managed to get the team into the postseason, a run that ended with a pitiful offensive showing against the league’s top defense. The Steelers went just 2-for-14 on third down and gained only 175 yards of total offense. Even so, the Steelers entered the fourth quarter down by only one point as their defense generated three turnovers to keep the team in the game. Rodgers is uncertain about his future (what’s new?) but has continued to hint that this would be his final season in the league, and ESPN’s broadcast seemed to intimate that he told them he was leaning towards retiring. His 21-year professional career could be over after amassing 66,274 yards, 527 touchdowns, and a 1.4% interception rate. The yards and touchdowns each rank in the top five in NFL history while his interception rate goes down as an NFL record. It certainly appears likely that the final pass attempt of Rodgers’ career will go down as a pick-six during Pittsburgh’s seventh straight playoff loss.
  • GB Head Coach
The Packers have made it known through various reports in the last week that they intend to discuss a new contract with LaFleur after the season. The tenor of those potential discussions likely hasn’t changed much, despite outside noise after the Packers lost in all-too-familiar fashion in the playoffs once again. Green Bay doesn’t want LaFleur, who has one year left on his contract, to enter next season as a lame-duck. The Packers can somewhat afford to play hardball with LaFleur in contract negotiations now. The organization isn’t known for paying coaches top tier money and LaFleur may not be in position to ask for that anymore, despite a 76-41-1 record. Upgrading from LaFleur to someone like John Harbaugh would be even less cost-effective for the Packers. Teams around the league with head coaching vacancies are keeping tabs on LaFleur in case these negotiations fall apart as he’d be a top candidate if he were to become available.
  • SF Tight End #85
Kittle, 32, has a long road to recovery ahead of him and could begin the 2026 season on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. He would be required to miss at least four games in that scenario. The veteran tight end finished the regular season as the half-PPR TE13, having missed Weeks 2-6 with a hamstring injury and Week 17 with an ankle injury. He caught 57-of-66 targets for 628 yards and seven touchdowns. The 49ers tend to keep injury information under wraps, but Kittle’s participation level in organized team activities, training camp and the preseason should provide actionable information for late-summer drafts. Entering his age-33 season and fighting with a mobility-limiting injury, he will be an extremely risky pick in 2026 drafts regardless of the offseason reporting.
  • LA Offensive Coordinator
LaFleur was fired by the Jets in the midst of a dreadful 2022 season. He landed on his feet in LA and immediately oversaw a top-10 scoring offense. Things went even better in 2025. The Rams led the league in scoring this year and Matthew Stafford will likely win his first career MVP. LaFleur is well-connected with a strong resume behind him and hasn’t gotten his shot at a head coaching gig yet. In a relatively weak hiring cycle, this could be his year.
  • CAR Quarterback #9
Young improved a lot in his third year after a rough first two seasons with the Panthers. The 24-year-old quarterback led Carolina to eight wins, a division championship and the playoffs. Young orchestrated four fourth quarter comebacks and six game-winning drives. He threw for over 20 touchdowns for the first time without increasing his interceptions and lowered his sack percentage. Young led the league in deep ball accuracy with a catchable percentage of 75 percent on passes that traveled at least 20 yards in the air. While Young still has work to do to be a top-15 fantasy quarterback, the Panthers are committed to him for at least the next two years now.
  • SF Tight End #85
Kittle got in limited work on Wednesday and Thursday and was spotted practicing again on Friday. He did play against the Seahawks in Week 18 so it’s not much of a surprise that he’ll be ready here. Kittle’s output will be paramount as the 49ers try to find a non-Christian McCaffrey trick over the middle against a fierce Eagles defense. He should make for a top-of-line DFS or Playoff Best Ball play at TE this week.
  • LA Wide Receiver #17
Adams looks likely to be full-go from the jump after three full sessions of practice this week. He probably could have played at any point after the Rams’ unfortunate Week 16 loss to Seattle, but there wasn’t much reason for him to risk it. He’ll be one of the top playoff best ball picks and DFS plays for this week with a solid matchup against the Panthers pass defense.
  • CHI Wide Receiver #15
Odunze got in his first full practice on Friday and was removed from the injury report — his return figures to be key as the Bears try to take two of three games against the Packers. Chicago’s star receiver finished his season with a 44/661/6 line in 12 games and has not played since November 28. Lowered expectations make sense in a DFS setting, but the full practice gives us a little optimism.
