Clark, who is the 13th-ranked prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline, is hitting .277/.368/.427 in 89 games at Triple-A this season with 10 home runs and 21 steals. He has been heating up in July, slashing .338/.466/.620. On the season, Clark has just a 37.7 percent hard-hit rate in Triple-A, so there may not be tons of power in the profile immediately, but he has tremendous plate discipline, great contact skills, and can run. Clark could be a solid source of batting average and steals this season.
  • CWS 1st Baseman #5
This was a candidate for game of the year so far. Down 4-0 before coming up in the first inning, the White Sox hung around, mounted a huge comeback in the eighth, and eked out a win with a walk-off hit in the 12th. Murakami was a huge part of that eighth inning rally hitting back-to-back home runs with Sam Antonacci and tying this game up. He also scampered home as the ghost runner in the 11th when the Yankees tried to back-pick him at third in an awful play. After needing a beat to get his timing back, Murakami now has three home runs and an .888 OPS in 15 games since returning from the injured list. Thatโ€™s also come with a nearly 41% strikeout rate.
  • STL Designated Hitter #48
This was an unbelievable baseball game. Tied 0-0 after nine, Pete Crow-Armstrong swatted a two-run home run in the top of the 10th to give the Cubs a commanding lead. Facing a sweep and swirling rumors about teammates being traded, the Cardinals rallied for three in the bottom of the inning with Herreraโ€™s walk-off double landing the final blow. It was his second of two doubles โ€“ with the first being hit 111 mph โ€“ and saved the day. Herrera himself has been at the center of some recent rumors and hopes to get off the schneid after putting up a .545 OPS over his last 30 games.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #29
Passan added that Detroit will begin to engage with interested teams in the next day or two. Skubal recorded his 1,000th career strikeout while punching out six and allowing three runs over 6 2/3 innings against the Orioles on Wednesday in what appears to be his final start in a Tigers uniform. The back-to-back Cy Young Award winner left the game with Detroit ahead 7-0, but they still wound up losing to drop four and a half games out of the final AL Wild Card spot. The general consensus, according to Passan, is that the Dodgers and Brewers are the clear frontrunners in the Skubal sweepstakes since they have the volume of prospects and big-league talent to facilitate a deal. Every contending team in baseball should be reaching out to try to land Skubal.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #3
Heโ€™s back. Dรญaz figures to immediately reclaim the closer role in Los Angeles with lefty Tanner Scott remaining in the mix to vulture the occasional opportunity. The 32-year-old former elite stopperโ€™s stuff looked sharp in a handful of minor league rehab outings, piling up 11 strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings, while working his way back from surgery to remove loose bodies from his elbow back in late April.
  • MIN Center Fielder #25
Buxton has been battling a lingering hip ailment for the last couple months and didnโ€™t look right at the dish after coming off the injured list last week, hitting just .160 (4-for-25) with zero extra-base hits in seven games. Itโ€™s challenging to forecast exactly when Buxton will return since the Twins would probably prefer that he finally put the hip issue to bed once and for all. Fantasy managers should anticipate a multi-week absence. There should be a definitive return timetable at some point in the near future.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #29
Skubal struck out six and walked one, throwing 92 pitches. He nearly escaped with only one run allowed, but Kyle Finnegan let two inherited runners score. Skubal remains the jewel of Mondayโ€™s trade deadline, so this very well mightโ€™ve been his final start with the Tigers. Detroit led 7-0 before losing 10-9 in 12 innings, dropping to 51-58 on the season. He began the game by striking out Taylor Ward for the 1,000th K of his career. It remains to be seen who heโ€™ll be pitching for in his next appearance.
  • KC 1st Baseman #9
Pasquantino is headed for some extra time off to rest and recover after leaving Tuesdayโ€™s game against the Twins with right hand soreness. The big cause for concern here is that the 28-year-old suffered a hamate fracture on that exact hand last month. Heโ€™ll presumably undergo imaging to rule out any structural issues. There should be some clarity on his status at some point in the coming days. Itโ€™ll probably wind up being Salvador Perez taking over at first base in his absence.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #17
Ohtani left a game on July 3 because of biceps discomfort, but it was a hitting issue and not supposed to be pitching-related. If the Dodgers are now concerned about it in terms of his pitching, then any sort of quick return to the mound seems highly unlikely. All signs point to him remaining in the lineup as a designated hitter, however.
  • MIN Center Fielder #25
Not great. Itโ€™s the same hip issue thatโ€™s been bothering Buxton for most of the season. The 32-year-old franchise cornerstone was 0-for-2 prior to being replaced in center field by Luke Keaschall in the fifth inning of this one. Buxton has graded out as a top-15 fantasy outfielder this season, slashing .263/.320/.544 with 57 runs scored, 25 home runs, 45 RBI and seven steals in 82 games. Any sort of extended absence would be a massive hit for the Twins as they try to stay in playoff contention. Heโ€™ll undergo further evaluation, and possibly an MRI, to determine the severity of the issue. There should be additional clarity on his status prior to Wednesdayโ€™s contest.
