  • TB Shortstop
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
The second-overall selection receives a whopping $9.75 million from Tampa Bay, which represents the second-highest signing bonus in draft history. Itโ€™s also a record for a high school player, according to MLB Pipelineโ€™s Jim Callis. The 18-year-old shortstop has a chance to evolve into the most impactful fantasy contributor from his draft class. He projects as a future five-category standout capable of hitting for both average and power while also chipping in some stolen bases. Heโ€™s several hyperspace jumps from the majors at this stage of his development, but it wouldnโ€™t be shocking if he moved quickly through Tampa Bayโ€™s system in the coming years.
  • CLE 3rd Baseman #11
Ramรญrez was placed on the IL with a fractured hamate bone on June 16th, so he has missed just over a month and will be right back out on the field for the Guardians. We could see a bit of a power dip in the first few weeks back, but Ramรญrez has always hit for power thanks to how often he pulls the ball in the air and not impressive raw exit velocities, so perhaps he can survive the recovery from hamate surgery better than others. Regardless, he should be back in all fantasy lineups.
  • KC Shortstop #7
This felt inevitable after Witt Jr. missed Sundayโ€™s game with a back injury, then returned on Monday, only to leave that game early. The Royals have the second-worst record in the American League and are not in playoff contention, so they will likely be cautious with their star shortstop, especially when dealing with a back injury. We may not see Witt Jr. back for a few weeks. Tyler Tolbert will likely continue to play shortstop in his place.
  • TB Designated Hitter #2
Dรญazโ€™s home run came in garbage time, but it counts the same for fantasy managers. The 34-year-old on-base machine took veteran southpaw Patrick Corbin deep for a 418-foot moonshot to straightaway center field in the ninth inning, putting the finishing touches on a lopsided win north of the border. Heโ€™s up to 14 home runs through 96 games and remains on pace to surpass last yearโ€™s career-high total of 25.
  • MIA Shortstop #6
Lopez is back at shortstop and hitting leadoff following a brief two-game absence due to right ring finger inflammation. The 27-year-oldโ€™s fascinating career odyssey has taken an unexpected turn towards superstardom this season as heโ€™s slashing .335/.368/.505 with 61 runs scored, nine homers, 46 RBI and 18 stolen bases across 419 plate appearances through 97 games.
  • NYY 2nd Baseman #13
Chisholm put on an epic power display in this one, capping a four-run opening frame with a no-doubter to right field off Pirates starter Braxton Ashcraft. He added an additional two-run shot in the third that just stayed inside the foul pole in right field. It was his first multi-homer performance of the year. Heโ€™s on pace to deliver top-10 fantasy value at both second and third base this season with 16 round-trippers and 26 stolen bases through 95 games.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #23
Itโ€™s unclear how much time Meyer will miss after throwing just 74 pitches across three innings on Saturday against the Brewers. The 27-year-old emerging Marlins ace was outstanding during the first half, earning his first All-Star Game selection in the process. However, heโ€™s already up to 111 innings, which is right around his previous career-high mark set back in 2024. Itโ€™s a tough break for Miami, and fantasy managers, but Meyer could probably use an extended break at this point in the year. There should be some clarity on his status in the coming days.
  • MIA Shortstop #6
Lopez takes a seat for the second consecutive contest with inflammation in his right ring finger. The positive news for the Marlins, and fantasy managers, is that initial X-rays came back negative and he doesnโ€™t appear to be facing an extended absence. The 27-year-old middle infielder has been an unexpected breakout sensation, delivering first-round fantasy value this season, slashing .335/.368/.505 with 61 runs scored, nine homers, 46 RBI and 18 stolen bases across 419 plate appearances through 97 games. Itโ€™ll be Javier Sanoja taking over at shortstop in his place on Monday night.
  • BAL Catcher #35
Rutschman winds up requiring a trip to the injured list for the third time this season after missing time over the weekend with a wrist issue. There should be additional clarity on his status once he undergoes imaging to determine the severity of the issue. Itโ€™s worth noting that Samuel Basallo is also dealing with a shoulder issue, so the Orioles are going to have to get creative at catcher in the coming days.
  • COL Catcher #15
Goodman has been the subject of trade rumors as of late, and this certainly didnโ€™t hurt his stock if he truly is available. The three roundtrippers bring him up to 30 on the season, and he was able to plate five, improving his RBI total to 56. Goodman was a breakout star last year, but heโ€™s been even better in 2026 with those aforementioned totals and an .886 OPS to go with them. Heโ€™s probably staying in Colorado โ€” why on Earth they would trade him is anyoneโ€™s guess โ€” but Goodman has the type of power that will play in whatever park he lands in.
