  • MIA Wide Receiver #10
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Florio opines that Hill will not be on the Dolphins’ roster next year, and with the Dolphins’ season already “off the rails,” jettisoning Hill sooner rather than later makes sense. The accusations made public from Hill’s current divorce case could result in a suspension, and Florio notes that “any team that would be interested in trading for Tyreek Hill wants to be sure that they’re not trading for a guy who’s going to be suspended before the end of the season.” If the Chiefs or Steelers are willing to bring him aboard, it stands to reason that they might choose to wait until after the NFL’s investigation concludes before making an offer.
  • KC Wide Receiver #1
We expect Worthy to be limited in today’s session. It’s a step in the right direction after Worthy sat out during Wednesday’s practice. If Worthy can practice in full on Friday, he could be good to go for Week 2 against the Eagles, though sitting out at least one week seems likely. Stay tuned. Chiefs rookie WR Jalen Royals (knee tendinitis) will not practice today.
  • BUF Running Back #4
Cook unexpectedly appeared on the Bills’ injury report as a limited participant yesterday. It was unclear when the injury occurred, but today’s full session suggests it is not a fresh strain and he should be good to go for his typical workload against the Jets on Sunday.
  • BAL Quarterback #8
The NFL ruled that “the matter has been addressed by the club and there is no further action from the league.” During the Ravens’ Sunday Night Football game against the Bills, a fan shoved DeAndre Hopkins’ head as he walked past the stands. Jackson then engaged in a brief shoving match with the fan, who was later banned from attending NFL games indefinitely. The matter has been resolved. Jackson is an elite QB1 against the Browns this week.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #1
Nabers’ participation level has not yet been disclosed, but fantasy managers should not be alarmed if he remains limited today. The elite WR1 is already on a veteran wide receiver’s practice program. While we would certainly feel better about him regularly practicing in full, there is no reason to think that limited practice sessions will result in limited in-game usage. Count on him to perform as usual on Sunday.
  • SF Quarterback #10
The team did not officially confirm Jones as the Week 2 starter, but speaking on KNBR radio early Thursday morning, General Manager John Lynch confirmed Brock Purdy (foot) would not play in Week 2, leaving Jones as the next man up. Jones signed a two-year, $7 million contract with the 49ers this offseason and was the rumored target of head coach Kyle Shanahan during the 2021 NFL Draft when the Niners used the No. 3 overall pick to select Trey Lance. Viewed as an ideal fit in Shanahan’s system, Jones completed 17-of-23 passes for 209 yards and two interceptions this preseason, and will have his work cut out for him with George Kittle (hamstring) on injured reserve and Jauan Jennings (shoulder) at risk of also missing Week 2. Jones shouldn’t be viewed as anything more than a low-end QB2/high-end QB3 in his Niners debut and can be avoided altogether outside of 2QB and superflex leagues.
  • SF Quarterback #13
In addition to ruling Purdy out for Week 2’s contest against the Saints, Lynch also declined to put a timeline on his QB1’s recovery. Hours after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Purdy would be looking at a 2-5 week absence, Lynch said the information the team has received from doctors has them viewing it as “a week-to-week thing.” With Purdy already confirmed as out for Week 2, the 49ers will shift to Mac Jones as their starter and lean on him throughout the duration of Purdy’s absence.
  • TB Wide Receiver #14
Godwin is recovering from a second surgery he underwent in the spring to repair some hardware he had put in his ankle. It was reported earlier that Godwin and the Bucs are targeting a Week 5 return, but Rapoport reports “Week 6 is also possible” as a return date. The Buccaneers made the decision to keep Godwin off injured reserve to start the season, and now appear ready to ramp him up for a return next month. If all goes well, Godwin is likely looking at multiple weeks of practice before he takes to the field. He avoided injured reserve to start the year, but there’s little reason to expect an early return, keeping the fantasy stocks for Mike Evans and rookie Emeka Egbuka high.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #10
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel also indicated that the “in-house disciplinary process,” which involves “an effort” to interview the alleged victim, has been activated. Hill was recently accused of eight instances of domestic violence “in a court filing submitted in connection with a divorce case.” Florio notes that Hill pleaded guilty to “domestic assault and battery by strangulation” 10 years ago, which could count as “an aggravating factor in connection with any punishment Hill may face,” if the league deems he violated the Personal Conduct Policy.
  • SF Quarterback #13
Shanahan also mentioned that it could be a multi-week injury for Purdy, though he didn’t give an exact timeline for his return. Purdy won’t practice on Wednesday after sustaining multiple injuries in Week 1 against the Seahawks. Jauan Jennings also suffered a shoulder injury in that game and George Kittle landed on injured reserve with a hamstring issue. Mac Jones is in line to make his first start as a 49er and will do so in a relatively easy matchup versus the Saints. Though he is far from a one-for-one replacement for Purdy, Jones should be able to execute the basics of Shanahan’s scheme. He will register as a low-end QB2 for fantasy purposes, making him worth an add in Superflex leagues.
