  • MIN 3rd Baseman #23
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Lewis has been unable to shake the injury bug throughout his professional career and heads back to the shelf after suffering a knee sprain during his final at-bat of Thursday’s series opener against the Tigers. The 26-year-old third baseman is hitting .222 (8-for-36) with two homers, eight RBI and two steals through 12 games. There’s no timetable for his return but the Twins are likely to handle the situation with an abundance of caution since Lewis underwent left knee surgery back in 2024.
  • SD Shortstop #2
In what had been a wild back-and-forth affair throughout the night, Bogaerts finally delivered the crushing blow as he ambushed a 1-0 sinker from Valente Bellozo for a 399-foot (108.3 mph EV) game-winning blast. Bogaerts finished the day 2-for-6 with a pair of runs scored and is now slashing .241/.281/.389 with two homers and eight RBI on the season.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #55
No next step for Rodón has been determined yet, but it’s good news that he made it through a bullpen session. Rodón’s hamstring injury is an additional deterrent to his return from bone spurs in his elbow, but it shouldn’t be long before he begins a rehab assignment.
  • DET Shortstop #7
It’s the rookie’s first day off of the season, and it’s just a routine off day. Javier Baez will play shortstop and bat seventh with Colt Keith at first base and Gleyber Torres at DH. McGonigle is off to a strong start to his MLB career, hitting .292/.370/.438 with a 7/6 K/BB ratio in 12 games.
  • STL Right Fielder #18
There is absolutely no stopping Walker right now. He launched a hanging slider from Brad Lord over the center field fence to push his home run total up to six on the season. That’s tied for the league-lead as of Wednesday afternoon and is just one shy of the six he hit in 111 games all of last season. This is far and away the most sustained power he’s ever had. On top of that, his swing decisions have trended way up and there seems to be a meaningful adjustment to his bat path that’s finally allowed him to lift that ball. Remember, he’s still only just 23 years old. It’s wheels up for Walker.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #31
Schlittler brought the heat on a frigid evening at Yankee Stadium, where temperatures hovered in the low 40s throughout the night, averaging 96.6 and topping out at 98.8 mph on his fastball. The 25-year-old rising star retired six straight before giving up back-to-back hits in the third inning before serving up a two-run double to Nick Kurtz, which snapped a streak of 14 consecutive scoreless innings to open the year. He also gave up a ground-rule double to Tyler Soderstrom that brought home an additional run in the frame. He’s been leaning more on is cutter and sinker this season and the results have been phenomenal with a microscopic 1.62 ERA, 0.48 WHIP and 22/3 K/BB ratio across 16 2/3 innings. Simply put, he’s pitching like a fantasy ace right now. He’ll face the Rays on Sunday at Tropicana Field to close out a two-start week.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #22
The box score doesn’t begin to tell the story, as once again, a vintage Alcantara outing. The 30-year-old wasn’t able to complete his second-consecutive shutout as he gave up a double and walk in the ninth, and two runs scored on a sac fly and a wild pitch in that frame after he exited. He struck out six, walked two, and wasn’t hit hard for the overwhelming majority of the game against a solid Cincinnati lineup. Alcantara will look to keep up this good run — good run seems like such an understatement — against the Tigers on Sunday. Fantasy managers who took a chance on Alcantara have to be thrilled.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #30
Skenes took a no-hitter into the sixth, when Fernando Tatis Jr. singled with one out. Jake Cronenworth had already walked to lead off the inning, so the Padres had a threat going in a 2-0 game. Jackson Merrill, though, grounded into a double play to end it. Skenes lost the shutout when Xander Bogaerts homered with one out in the seventh and was removed immediately afterwards. Skenes has allowed precisely one run in both of his starts since his Oneil Cruz-fueled Opening Day disaster against the Mets. He’ll likely make his next start Monday versus the Nationals.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #22
It’s a devastating development for the Cubs, and fantasy managers, after Horton blossomed into an upper-echelon fantasy contributor during the second half of last season and looked like a rotation mainstay for years to come. The 24-year-old former top pitching prospect hit the injured list over the weekend with a forearm strain after leaving his second start of the season after just 17 pitches. It’s unclear whether he’ll undergo a full Tommy John reconstruction or a less invasive internal brace procedure, which would expedite his return to the majors. It’ll be Colin Rea and Javier Assad tasked with picking up the slack in Chicago’s rotation moving forward.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #58
Astros general manager Dana Brown told reporters Brown will be reevaluated in two weeks and isn’t dealing with any ligament damage in his shoulder. It’s hardly an encouraging update after Brown was placed on the injured list over the weekend with a shoulder strain. The 27-year-old fantasy ace was off to an exceptional start to the season, allowing just one run with a 17/6 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings. The best-case scenario would involve him beginning a throwing program in a couple of weeks without setbacks, but fantasy managers should still anticipate an extended absence since he’ll need time to build up his arm strength and pitch count before returning to Houston’s rotation.
