Murray was informed of his impending release over a week ago, but there was still a slight chance that a team would opt to jump the free agency line and trade for him. Nothing materialized and Murray is now officially a free agent. With the Jets, Dolphins, and Colts all addressing their quarterback vacancies, the list of potential landing spots for Murray is barely more than one team long. The Vikings are widely considered the favorites to land Murray, and we expect that deal to be made official sooner rather than later. The Browns and Steelers could both give Murray a call, though it will be hard to steer him away from Minnesota.
  • BAL Defensive End #91
Baltimore now has Maxx Crosby’s replacement roughly 12 hours after his trade fell through. Hendrickson had been holding out for a better deal to start free agency and the Crosby debacle created an opening for him. At just $28 million per year, Hendrickson isn’t quite paid like the top-tier EDGE-rushers, but he should still crack the top-10. He was injured for much of 2025 and totaled just four sacks, but his 2024 and 2023 seasons were enough to get him paid. Hendrickson tallied 17.5 sacks in both of those seasons. That was enough to lead the league two years ago. He will now be the centerpiece of first-year head coach Jesse Minter’s defense.
  • FA Defensive End #91
The offseason Hendrickson saga continues to surge on through the first two days of legal tampering, with one of the top free agents on the market yet to sign - we now know why. Russini reports that he has offers on the table and will make a formal decision on Wednesday. It is not uncommon for teams to require a bit of salary cap magic prior to signing a player of Hendrickson’s magnitude, something that appears to be in the works behind the scenes as multiple franchises lobby for his services. Stay tuned.
  • NYJ Quarterback #7
Smith agreed to a restructured contract with the Raiders before the trade, complicating the salary implications, but the Raiders are reportedly picking up most of this year’s salary. To say that Smith’s year in the desert didn’t go well is an insult to the phrase “didn’t go well” as he led the league in interceptions and saw his adjusted yards per attempt fall from 7.5 to 6.8. He’s entering his age-36 season and is a last-chance gasp to keep the Jets from starting someone completely new. That said, if the Jets have something going right for their offense, it is their offensive line, and Smith probably looked worse than he was behind Vegas’ league-worst line. There’s the possibility of a dead cat bounce QB2 superflex season here. The Raiders have to be thrilled to save any money in a trade and the idea of getting a sixth-round pick on top of that can only help them as they move on to (what we all assume will be) the Fernando Mendoza Era.
  • ARI Quarterback #17
Uncle Rico lands on his feet in Arizona with a chance to compete for the starting quarterback job with incumbent Jacoby Brissett during camp and preseason. The $8.25 million contract is far from “starter money,” but is still more than the average annual value of Brissett, making it likely the franchise is headed for a positional battle this offseason in the wake of Kyler Murray’s departure. At bare minimum, Minshew has proven to be a capable backup at the NFL level, having notched 47 starts across 63 appearances during his seven-year NFL career.
  • NO Running Back #1
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported last week that Etienne “could fit” with the Saints. Now, the 27-year-old back is headed to the Big Easy to presumably take over as the team’s RB1, immediately putting Alvin Kamara’s already uncertain future even more in doubt. Etienne rushed 260 times for 1,107 yards last season while also scoring seven times on the ground. He added another 36 catches for 292 yards and six receptions, averaging a solid 5.6 yards per touch on the season. Etienne is a versatile three-down back whose pass-catching upside will put him in the conversation as a high-end RB2 in fantasy leagues next season. Assuming a high-volume role in New Orleans, he should have a chance to replicate last year’s success when he finished as the RB14 in fantasy points per game.
  • ARI Running Back #25
It’s well short of what Allgeier was reportedly expecting — something in the range of $22 million over three seasons. He lands in a crowded Arizona backfield alongside Trey Benson and James Conner, who recently took a pay cut to remain with the Cardinals in 2026. Allgeier rushed 210 times for 1,035 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie in 2022 before being replaced as the Falcons’ lead back by Bijan Robinson in 2023. His peripherals fell off a cliff in 2025, as he averaged a career-low 3.6 yards per carry and average 0.11 broken tackles per rush, which ranked 49th out of 66 qualifying running backs. Allgeier will likely split backfield duties in Arizona and will remain as touchdown dependent as any back in fantasy football.
  • ATL Kicker #6
Folk, one of the NFL’s last millennials, made 28 of his 29 field goal tries last year for the Jets and is a career 85 percent kicker over 18 NFL seasons. The Falcons have made due at kicker since Younghoe Koo flamed out and will look to Folk for some short-term stability in 2026.
  • MIA Quarterback #2
Willis’ Miami arrival comes the same day the ‘Fins ate an historic amount of dead money by cutting Tua Tagovailoa loose. Despite the salary cap complications, the ‘Fins always seemed like the most likely landing spot as they attempted to build “Packers South” (again), though that does not include at offensive coordinator, where former Texans assistant Bobby Slowik will be calling plays. The attack will nevertheless undoubtedly be modeled after the keepaway approach the Pack employed any time Willis was forced to spell Jordan Love. It could work, but seems more likely to fail. It’s at least an outside-the-box swing. Willis’ high-end rushing ability will make him an intriguing QB1 flier in fantasy leagues. If he stays healthy, it’s difficult to believe he will be outside the top 12 at quarterback, though his NFL track record is scant enough that we can’t discount the possibility a 2025 Justin Fields outcome.
  • ARI Running Back #6
The good news about the restructure is that it will keep Conner in Arizona next year, giving him a real shot to head the backfield again depending on how his foot/ankle injury rehab is coming along. Because of how it was reported, it’s almost certainly actually a pay cut for Conner, who would likely have faced a tough market. Conner and fellow injury rehabber Trey Benson figure to again split carries in Arizona in 2026 if both are healthy.
