HLs: Wilson scores 36, Taylor beats buzzer for win
A'ja Wilson's 36 points and 12 rebounds weren't enough to stave off a scrappy Chicago Sky team led by Sydney Taylor, who notched 29 points of her own and a clutch game-winning 3-pointer to cap off the comeback.

Oโ€™Hearn is expected to miss 6-8 weeks, according to the team. The 33-year-old suffered the injury during Fridayโ€™s loss to the Reds while running to first base in the ninth inning. Itโ€™s a massive hit for the Pirates as theyโ€™ll be without one of their key middle-of-the-order run producers until at least mid-September. The encouraging news here is that thereโ€™s a chance Oโ€™Hearn is back for the home stretch, and a potential postseason run.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #68
Passan adds that the sense is that Kirby is available and could be moved prior to Mondayโ€™s deadline. He also notes that Seattle has been listening to offer for Emerson Hancock and Luis Castillo. The Mariners have top prospect Kade Anderson knocking on the door of the majors and figure to move at least one, if not more, of their current rotation members. Kirby would net the largest return in any potential trade package, despite holding a pedestrian 3.98 ERA across 120 innings this season.
  • COL Catcher #15
Feinsandโ€™s update coincides with a report from The Athleticโ€™s Ken Rosental earlier this week that the Rockies have been asking for a top prospect as part of any multi-player package. The 26-year-old slugging backstop is the rare hitter that is statistically better away from Coors Fieldโ€™s high-octane offensive environment and should command a massive prospect haul, especially since he wonโ€™t reach free agency for three more years. Goodman would be one of the biggest names moved at the trade deadline and it seems like Coloradoโ€™s new-look front office, which features Paul DePodesta at the helm, will have to be blown away to consider jettisoning their lineup anchor.
  • MIL Catcher #23
Naylorโ€™s arrival seems to signal that Milwaukee is open to moving current backup catcher Gary Sรกnchez. The 26-year-old former top prospect never lived up to his potential in Cleveland, but he represents an interesting reclamation project for the Brewers behind starter William Contreras. Heโ€™s flashed some occasional over-the-fence pop, but needs to start making more frequent hard contact if heโ€™s going to be a fantasy-relevant option in the future. Itโ€™s the type of challenge trade between two forward-thinking front offices that has a range of potential outcomes wider than the Grand Canyon.
  • MIL Shortstop #91
Made capped the epic five-hit performance with an eighth-inning grand slam to join Athletics top prospect Leo De Vries as the only teenage to record five hits and two homers in a game since 2005, per MLB Pipeline. The 19-year-old prodigy has been on an absolute rocket ship towards Milwaukee since a sublime Dominican Summer League campaign back in 2024. Heโ€™s universally regarded as the top prospect in baseball and is thriving as one of the youngest hitters in Double-A, slashing .287/.359/.464 with 12 round-trippers and 29 stolen bases through 89 games. Itโ€™s impossible to dismiss the slim possibility given how meteoric his rise has been to this point that the Brewers decide to give him a taste of the majors and postseason action before the end of the year. It happened with Junior Caminero a couple years ago.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #18
He added that the team is โ€œhopingโ€ he only misses two starts and that the club considers it โ€œpretty minor.โ€ McClanahan left Thursdayโ€™s start with mid-back tightness after three innings and change with diminished velocity.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #17
Ohtani was held out of Thursdayโ€™s game due to his troublesome left knee, which led to a start for Kikรฉ Hernรกndez.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #18
Thatโ€™s a relief compared to an injury to his throwing arm, but itโ€™s still not great news and could portend an injured list stay. More to come on this. McClanahan lasted three innings against the Rangers, allowing one hit and one earned run while striking out three.
  • DET Center Fielder #95
Clark, who is the 13th-ranked prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline, is hitting .277/.368/.427 in 89 games at Triple-A this season with 10 home runs and 21 steals. He has been heating up in July, slashing .338/.466/.620. On the season, Clark has just a 37.7 percent hard-hit rate in Triple-A, so there may not be tons of power in the profile immediately, but he has tremendous plate discipline, great contact skills, and can run. Clark could be a solid source of batting average and steals this season.
  • CWS 1st Baseman #5
This was a candidate for game of the year so far. Down 4-0 before coming up in the first inning, the White Sox hung around, mounted a huge comeback in the eighth, and eked out a win with a walk-off hit in the 12th. Murakami was a huge part of that eighth inning rally hitting back-to-back home runs with Sam Antonacci and tying this game up. He also scampered home as the ghost runner in the 11th when the Yankees tried to back-pick him at third in an awful play. After needing a beat to get his timing back, Murakami now has three home runs and an .888 OPS in 15 games since returning from the injured list. Thatโ€™s also come with a nearly 41% strikeout rate.
