  • LAA Right Fielder #27

Trout hit his second homer in as many games in the fifth inning to push the Angels’ lead to 5-2. Trout is off to a blazing start through the first two games of the season, going 4-for-6 at the plate while also drawing four walks. It’s only two games, but Trout’s early power display after failing to homer in 41 spring at-bats is encouraging.
  • CLE Right Fielder #24
DeLauter, who got into two postseason games last October, got the Guardians on the board with a 353-foot homer in the first and then added some insurance with a one-run lead with a 422-foot blast in the ninth. He also had a single and another run scored in between. DeLauter’s struggles staying healthy as a minor leaguer don’t bode well, but there’s no questioning the former first-rounder’s talent. He’d seem to be worth using in mixed leagues for now.
  • LAD Center Fielder #44
The Dodgers entered the home half of the fifth inning facing a two-run deficit until Max Muncy and Teoscar Hernandez set the table with a couple of singles. Pages then followed with a mammoth 400-foot (100.6 mph EV) three-run shot that changed the entire complexion of the game and put the Dodgers ahead to stay. He also singled in the eighth inning. Pages appears to be back in the Dodgers’ good graces after being benched down the stretch of their run to the World Series.
  • DET Shortstop #7
The 21-year-old phenom came to the dish with the bases loaded in the opening inning and laced the first pitch that he saw from Nick Pivetta for a two-run single into right field that increased the Tigers’ early lead to 3-0. In the third inning, he worked his way back from an 0-2 count before crushing a 2-2 fastball (105.9 mph EV) off the top of the wall in right field for another double. He also reached on an infield single in the fifth — exhibiting elite speed with a sprint speed of 30.2 ft/s — before riding home on Dillon Dingler’s two-run blast. If he keeps this up, he won’t be hitting sixth in the Tigers’ lineup for very long.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #54
It was just poor luck for the Giants that they never had the guys on base to employ their huge advantage over the rest of the league in situational hitting. Fried’s velocity crept back up some tonight; he averaged 95.4 mph with his fastball in the first two innings and 94.6 mph overall, up from 94.0 mph last time out. This is actually the first time ever that Fried has earned a win in his first outing of the season. Last year, the Yankees won 20-9 in his debut, but Fried gave up six runs — two earned — and was pulled one out shy of qualifying for the win. In 2024 with Atlanta, he didn’t even make it out of the first inning while facing the Phillies. Fried will pitch in Seattle next time out.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #40
This always seemed like the most likely outcome after Lodolo didn’t seem to be brimming with optimism after playing catch on Tuesday at American Family Field in Milwaukee. The 28-year-old southpaw won’t require a lengthy absence at the outset of the regular season but he’ll need at least a handful of minor league rehab outings to build up his pitch count and stamina. Top pitching prospect Rhett Lowder, who will start on Sunday against the Red Sox to open the season, seems like the clearest beneficiary from Lodolo’s departure from Cincinnati’s rotation mix since he’ll have a much clearer path to consistent innings, which gives him some fantasy appeal as a streaming option in shallow mixed leagues.
  • CHC Center Fielder #4
Passan adds that the long-term contract agreement, which ostensibly buys out Crow-Armstrong’s four remaining arbitration-eligible seasons and two additional free agent years, could be worth up to $133 million through performance-based escalators. The 23-year-old center fielder blossomed into a legitimate fantasy star last season, cobbling together a magnificent 31-homer, 35-steal breakthrough campaign. He’ll be at the epicenter of Chicago’s long-term roster build and projects as a perennial early-round selection in fantasy drafts as he approaches his physical prime.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #26
It was extremely encouraging to see Burns completely dialed in after a mostly forgettable spring that left fanatsy managers with more questions than answers. He generated 13 swinging strikes and topped out at 99.8 mph on his four-seam fastball, limiting Milwaukee’s formidable lineup to just four hits, including a solo homer from Jake Bauers. More importantly, he didn’t hand out a free pass in this one and got hit pitch count up to 68 (53 strikes). The 23-year-old top pitching prospect will kick off the season with an extremely favorable home matchup against the division-rival Pirates on Monday night.
  • STL Shortstop #87
It’s official. Wetherholt will make his highly-anticipated big-league debut against the Rays on Thursday at Busch Stadium. The 23-year-old top prospect will open the regular season as the Cardinals starting second baseman and figures to bat near the top of the lineup. He projects as an immediate five-category impact fantasy contributor after batting .306/.421/.510 with 17 homers and 23 steals in 109 games in the upper minors last season.
  • PIT Shortstop #85
Griffin hit just .184 in his Grapefruit League action, but he was able to hit four homers and had some exceptional exit velocities during his time in big-league camp. There’s reports that the two sides are working on a long-term extension, but he’ll almost assuredly begin the season in the minors. Griffin is one of the few prospects in baseball who is worth rostering in redraft leagues even if he is opening the season in Triple- or Double-A.
